Effective Third Sector
For the grant makers and the grant seekers
Effective Third Sector supports grant makers in developing and managing grant funding programmes, and in assessing applications.
We support small charities to develop impactful grant funding bids, including offering funding research, proofreading, and coaching.
If you are starting out on your philanthropic journey, we can also help you consider which causes you would like to support, and how best to go about doing that.

About
Kathryn Kendall is the Founding Director of Effective Third Sector. She has worked in the charity sector for 20 years, both within large UK-based charities, and on a freelance basis. She has delivered direct project work with children and young people, and held roles in project management and grant management. She has worked as a grant assessor for eight national charities and managed a range of funds, including supporting strategy development and implementation. She has also delivered training on principles in setting up grant schemes.

Kathryn has provided grant funding and strategy support to a range of amazing small charities, both brand new and more established, working within the following fields: children and young people; arts and media; international humanitarian and Christian projects; churches; and community events.
Kathryn works alongside a small team at Effective Third Sector, which combined provides extensive experience in grant funding, grant management, fundraising, back office support, and direct project work in the charity sector.
